NOTES OF THE TURF. W. T. Anderson is at Juarez for a few days on his way back to the east from California. It Is reported that II. G. IJcdwcll is negotiating for the emit met on jockey 15. Marco, who is riding at Juarez. Jockeys R. .McLaughlin and Jack ORrien. who rode in this country some seasons back, are now rid-fc, ing iu Kritlsh Guiana, where they are meeting witn success. Algernon Daiugcrticld. assistant secretary of the Jockey lub. who has been through a long siege of llliies:, is back at his desk. He is now on the road to complete recovery. On January 20 I. Mnher, the well-known jockey, was lying at his residence at Cropwell Rutler. near Nottingham, suffering from a severe chill, but had passed a good night, and his Illness was less serious than was at lirst feared when n London specialist was called iu. Maher hoped to be out of bed in a few days. , .
