FIRST OF ENGLISH CLASSICS RUN. Kennymore Is Returned Winner of Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket, with Corcyra Second. I.on. Ion. Bag., April 2!. At Newmarket today, tin I wo Thousand Galaeaa, for three year old colts and tillies. over the Rowley mile, was won by Sir John Thursbys bay coll Kennymore. by John o Banal -Croeeam. Lord I loaderrys chestnut eoit Corcyra, by rolimelaa feat mala, finished second and J. B. Joels brown eoit Black Jester, by Poly- inelus -Absurdity, was third. The American Jockey Frank ONeill, rode Keniiymore. whose winning margin was a short head. The result was strictly in accordance with last years public form anil the three placed colts are capital young horses of high class. Corcyra de feated Kennymore iu the Middle Park Plate last fall, but it was the tatters lirst start and the experience gafased and improvement wrought by his first race was so gnat that he simply ran away from Corcyra when the two came into opposition again In the Dewhurst Plate at the Newmarket Houghton meeting. It was aaaoaaced two days before the race that The Tetr.irch would not he started for the Two Thousand. This was an iiitiinat ion that he is in reserve for the Bnaom Derby, but it will not be at all surprising if the two successive-victories of Kennymore in the Craven Stakes and Two Thousand Guineas should serve to make him tirst choice for the Derhy. He is now known Io be sound and iu grand form, while the real condition and progress of The Tetrarch is shadowed by doubt.
