GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington. ICy., October 9. A number of trotting enthusiasts who saw the noted gelding Uhlan carry his owner. C. K. G. Billings of Chicago, who Weighs 191 pounds, and trot an eighth of a mile in 13V. seconds over the hard track of the Kentucky Trotting Horse Breeders Association here yesterday afternoon are asking "What thoroughbred can curry as much weight and run an eighth of a mile-over the same track la better time-" Some of these enthusiasts have suggested that the trotting association should one day next week hang tip a piirse of .,000 for the best eighth of a mile lull running horse currying 190 pounds. "Why there are two-year-old runners around here that can carry " that weight and run an eighth of a mile in better than 13 seconds over that track," said a veteran turfman who has long been an owner and trainer of runners. "Yes." added another, "and Mr. Billings himself is the owner of a horse called Re.v-ltourn. n son of Star Slioot. that can carry 250 pounds and run an eighth of a mile faster than Uhlan trotted yesterday, providing he has a flying start as Uhlan did and is timed in the same way from the fall of the flag when he Is at the eighth post." The emploves at Idle Hour Farm tonight were . given a big daueo by Mr. and Mrs. K. U. Bradley. preliminary to the departure next week of the Bradley racing stable from the farm to Latonia.
