G. D. WILSON BUYS A STALLION. Lexington, Ky., December IS. Tim Donohue. a New York trainer of steeplechasers, today bought Pebeto, a three-year-old brown colt by Out of Reach Fairy Dell, from Jack Baker and will put him to jumping. Garrett D. Wilson today bought from John E. Madden, acting for the estate of W. OB. Mac donotigh, of California, the seven-year-old stallion Duke of Ormonde, by Orsinl Santa Bella, by St. Serf. Mr. Wilson also tried to buy from William Wallace the yearling bay colt by Duke of Ormonde Gold Lace, which was responsible for his purchase of the stallion, but he. failed. .Mr. Wallace wanted 0,000 for the colt. He recently refused Walter O. Parmers 1914.sh,000 for him and was not tempted today by a proffer of ,500. Wallace bought the colt for 00 at the Macdpnough dispersal sale at Sheepshead Bay last September and he showed a quarter at Latouia in better than 23. At the same sale Mr. Wilson bought Gold Lace for 50. lie now is satisfied tliat .he has the sire and the dam of one of the greatest colts In the state. Wallace is said to have offered to race this colt against any one in T. C. McDowells barn, the winner to take both.
