GREAT STOCK FARM OUT IN NEVADA. Peter Clark passed through Chicago yesterday on his way to Louisville, intent on inspecting the proceedings at Churchill Downs. While at Reno Ik- visited George W. Winglields stud farm in the Washoe valley, two and a half miles distant troiu Reno. Here lie found a considerable lK»r-ti.m of a vast domain set apart ami devoted to the siistenani-e and comfort of a surprisingly extensive band of thoroughbreds. It is a fertile liody of laud and produces in profusion all the cereals and alfalfa needed and more Tin- appointments of the .lace are up to date and on such a great scale ihat 225 acres are set apart as paddock- alone for the stallions, broodmares and their young. Here nearly one hundred broodmares are already luxuriously installed. The lords of the harem are that sturdy and high-class ra.-er Montgomery by Pe-sara — Montgomery Coo|ier. Starbottle by Hastings -Siuitish and Pcutschland by Sain — Derfargilla. Tin- latter horse has already sired winners of races in this country and Kngland and transmits to his progeny much of his own singular beauty and -viiHiietrv of outline. Montgomerys young ones law yet to ra.-e. but in appearance are all that ■i breeder could desire. There are now at the tariu fifty foals of this year, almut equally divided lietween the sires.
