. I i , • • LATEST IMPROVEMENTS AT PIMLIC0. Baltimore. Mil.. Xovember 3. — Since the spring meeting a large sum has been expended for the comfort of patrons of racing at Pimlico. The whole space under the grandstand has been cleared of all obstructions and the oniy MM left are the posts which support the stand. Overhead, extending north and south, has been placed, at an elevation of twelve feet, all of the boards th:it contain information for the public. A gallery along its front allows the chalker to write on these lioards. Here are found all the pay slates, the approximate odds lMiard. and the board which gives tne names and numbers of the horses and jockeys Willi the weights. There can lie no more crowding now when programs are marked by visitors. Where the old approximate odds hoard used to he the club has added an extension of IM fi"et. and there will be found six extra booths for paying off tickets. There are now 110 pay MM at the rear of the rank of pool lioxes. and that whole space is left unobstructed as a paying exchange. Where before there were two money changers liooths there are now three. All these changes permit the crowds to pass rapidly into and out of the betting ring and information stations and to keep in touch w ith the events on the course without crowding.
