BLUE BONNETS BREEDERS STAKE. The first futurity event to be run over the course of the Montreal Jockey Club will be the Blue Bonnets Breeders Stake, which is to be decided at the autumn meeting of the club this year. Nominations to this event were made in 1913 and out of the foals nominated at that time, forty-eight in all. nineteen remain eligible to face tlie barrier when they are called to the post. Eleven of these are Ontario-bred and eight owe their nativity to Quebec. Some of the Ontario-breds are Kings Plate nominees. The added money in this event is .r 00. of which 00 goes to the second horse and 00 to the third. However, the stake will be worth more than the added money to the winner, as the subscription and starting fees will amount to more than the second and third money and all of this goes to the first under the wire. As this race has been designed for stayers, the distance being a mile and a half, it should be one that will demonstrate the quality of the race horses that are being raised in Canada. Both the Ontario and Quebec Kings Plates will have been decided before the running of this event. The owners and their candidates are: Brookdale Stables b. c, Walker, by Kelston — Drowsy. Mrs. M. C.
