T MR. WLDENERS JUMPERS ARE STILL HIS CHIEF SOURCE OF RACING- SUCCESS The stable of J. E. Widener, which raced under the name of L. Wood, owing to the death of a relative of Mr. Widener, made a fairly good financial return to Mr. Wideners further venture into American Hat racing. Nevertheless, his leading monetary success of the year was second in a jumping race when his good live-ycar-old Expectation captured the Manly Memorial Handicap at Pimlico, worth .,015 to the winner. Chiclet, the imported four-year-old, by Spearmint Nature, which was bred by Mr. AVidener in France, was the second best money-getter, capturing five races for a total of 3,409.
