CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. "Snapper" Garrison, the one-time famous jockey, is now training several two-year-olds at the Fair Grounds. Jockey E. Haj ass, the Oklahoma boy who rode so well for August Belmont, and who piloted the fast gelding. Irtachawe, in all his best races, will ride at New Orleans as a free lance. John Sanford has booked to Short Grass, the brown mare Affiance, 3. l,y Clifford, One I Love, by Minting; second dam The Apple, by Hermit. Affiance is at F. D. Knights farm in Jessamine County, Ky. William Ilog.au has shipped twelve thoroughbreds, hi longing to the Sunset Stable, to Churchill Downs, Louisville. Ky., where they will be wintered. Three Jumpers and several yearlings are included in the string. Wade McLemore. prominent Texas breeder, says that a bill to permit racing in Texas with the pari-mutuel system of WUgsehBg will be introduced at the coming session of the Legislature with favorable prospects of being passed. Mr. W. T. Badgerys American -bred mare Maxine Elliot recently foaled a fine colt to Larino. In America Maxine Elliot threw several winners, and the only foal from her that has raced out here won recently in New Zealand. — Sydney Referee,
