RACING ON 3TATEN ISLAND IN AUGUST. New York. May 3. — Thoroughbred racing during part of the month of August will be provided in a convenient location for New Yorkers who will be deprived of the sport while the Saratoga meeting is in progress. Edward Ztmmcr has gained control of the half mile track at Donegan Hills. Staten Island, and ureeaees to hold a five-day meeting there as a feature of the Bichniond County Fair, which has been held annually at the track. An organization to be called the Stateu Island Jockey Club will be in control of this sport, and it is proposed to give purees of the value of 00 each. The track is in good condition, but it is planned to -rebuild the stables aud the grandstand. Edward Tribe has been engaged ns starter.
