CANADIAN RACING MAY BE SUSPENDED. Toronto. Ont., May 22. — A dispatch from Ottawa this afternoon states that the government will announce, probably tomorrow, its bill to prohibit race track gambling after July 1 next and iKissibly the closing of all tracks in Canada until the end of the war. Hon. C. J. Doherty. minister of justice, intimated when interviewed this afternoon, that the Wilcox bill would go no further, nor would the prosi eetive committee to deal with it lie appointed. The bringing down by the minister of the government measure, which will be radical and definite in character, will supersede the Wilcox proposals.
