AVon easily; second and third driving. ROLY passed INTRIGUER at his riders leisure on the last turn and was under slight restraint to the end. SURPRISING gradually improved his position; but tired in the last eighth and was hard ridden at the finish. INTRIGUER showed excellent speed in paccmaking, but swerved out thrpugh the homestretch and slightly interfered with GRUNDY. The latter, away forwardly, refused to extend himself in the early running, but finished gamely under punishment. ROCKlORT ran well. AVon easily; second and third driving. AVOLFHRTON II. was under restraint until in the final quarter, then came on the outside of tho leaders,, closed up rapidly and won going away. SYOSSET was a close contender through the last turn of tho field and passed, the leaders at the final fence, but gave way when challenged. , LOCH EARN outstayed ORMEAD in the final drive. II. took the lead at the. elbow, and held .on tenaciously, but tired slightly in the closing .strides. KILLARNEY ran a fairly good race. OENONE did not run well in the going. OLD ROSEBUD set a fast pace on the outside of the leaders .in the early running and took a clear lead when entering the stretch, then held on gamely and outstayed BROMO in the final drive. The hitter raced next to the rail for the entire way and held on resolutely, but could not quite get up. CHICLET quit after going a half mile and did not run freely in the soft going. BULLY HOY responded gamely when put under punishment and was gaining in. the closing strides. JUSQU AU BOUT finished gamely and the race should improve him. ARROAVAVOOD showed speed.
