Won handily; second and tiiird driving. BELLA DESMOND, under restraint in the early running, took the lead in the stretch and won with speed in reserve. BEDTIME STORIES set a good pace and, while tiring in the final eighth, held on gamely. GOLDEN ROD was shuttled back on the last turn, but gained rapidly in the homestretch and finished fast. SYRIAN slipped through next to the rail on the first turn and displayed the most sliced in paccmaking. but tired slightly when challenged. IIANOBALA was hard ridden throughout and easily outstayed DORCAS in the homestretch. The latter tired. WOODEN SHOES raced next to the rail all the way and was eased up when beaten. The latter was under slight restraint in the earjy running and finished resolutely under hard riding through the final eighth. DIAMOND saved ground on all turns and held the others safe for third place. DIVERSION raced well. ATHLETIC GIRL tired after going a fast half mile. RHINE MAIDEN ran a dull race. . . . .
