Won easilv; second and third driving. 10M McTAGGART, under slight restraint in the early running, saved ground on the stretch turn, closed up rapidly when called on and Avon in a canter. MARIE MILLER set the pace and displayed a good order of speed in the going, but tired and just lasted long enough to withstand ARRAVANS challenge. The latter began badly, but gradually improved his position and finished with a belated rush. ?.I,-A Xls Avas a orw,l, contender, but tired badly in the last eighth and probably was short. DIA-ra-e1 llext to tlie rail throughout and was interfered with repeatedly in the last eighth by II VAN XLS. QUEEN KRRAXT ran well. ALVORD quit badly in the homestretch. Won driving; second and third the same. ROBERT OLIVER saved ground where possible, moved up steadily when called on, wore the leader down in the last eighth and won drawing dear. CREST HILL, under a choking pull, raced extremely wide throughout and outjumped the others at all fences, but tired in the closing strides. SYOSSET was well ridden and made a game effort in the last half mile, but also tired at the end. SUPERHUMAN lost his rider at the nineteenth jump. OfQKl THIRD RACE 5- 1-2 Furlongs. LADY EILEEN slipped through next to the rail when entering the homestretch and, passing BLUE PARADISE, drew clear in the last eighth and was going away at the end. AILEEN O. raced in close; pursuit of the leader and held on gamely in the tinal drive. UMATILLA moved up gamely on the outside of the leaders after being forced wide in the homestretch and finished close up. LADY" LONGFELLOW, away poorly, gradually improved her position and finished fastest of the leaders. BELLE MERE was hard ridden throughout and held on well in the final drive. Won easily; second and third driving. LAX 1 US moved up with a rush on the last turn and, drawing clear under pressure in the last ighth, easily held AMELITA safe at the end. AMELITA. while racing in close pursuit of the leaders, was forced hack in the homestretch, but. came again and finished gamely. PAXAMAX showed the most speed for the first half, but tired. POACHER raced extremely wide all the way, but finished fast. AKALEA was in close quarters until at the eighth post, then came around the leaders and closed up rapidly, but stumbled in the closing strides and was eased up. PAUL CONNELLY had a rough race.
