DECKMATE followed the leader under restraint in the early running, took the lead in the homestretch and won with speed in r-sPrve. STARFINCH showed much speed and raced into a long lead oil the first turn, but could not withstand the winners challenge. LADY MOLL was outpaced for the ilrst half and endeavored to run out on the last turn, but finished gamely and outstayed NASHVILLE. The latter tired in the last eighth. BITRLINGAME had no mishaps. The latter closed up with a rush in the last sixteenth and would have Avon in another stride. AMACKASSIN was hard ridden all the way and tired in the closing strides. KOII-I-NOOR showed a good turn of early speed, but tired in the last eighth and probably was short. AMERICA III. ran a good race and was gaining at the finish.
