TAKES RINGBONES OFF TO RACE On the subject of horses and ailments, there" is a story going the rounds in which Sun Briar and lils ringbones figure. Henry McDaniel was show ing Mr. Kilmers star colt to a visitor at the stable. After the visitor had walked around Sun Briar and given him a thorough inspection, he remarked to Mr. McDaniel: "Surely you dont start this horse with those ringbones?" McDnniels looked at the man with astonishment, as Sun Briar had won the Hopeful the day previous. Then his quick wit served him. "No, sir," replied McDaniels, "we always take the ringbones off when we start him."
