CHEYENNE RACING PROSPECTS GOOD Present Indications Point to Highly Successful Meeting of Twenty Days Plenty of Horses HorsesCheyenne Cheyenne Wyo July 24 Present indications point to a highly successful race meeting at Frontier Park this city for a period of twenty days be ¬ ginning on August 10 and winding up on September 2 There are plenty of horses on the grounds right now ready to race and they are of a better calibre than have partaken in a meeting in the west for a long time A number came from Latonia when that meeting closed on July 13 and in the band were many which were winners of one or more races at the 3Iilldale course courseA A T Dobsoii who will serve in the stewards stand at Frontier Park was a recent arrival from Cincinnati He remained in the Queen City for several days after the finish of the Latouia meet ¬ ing to look after the shipments of thoroughbreds here His missionary work was quite productive as a number of owners sent their horses here who had not raced in this section of the country in years Judge Uobson also reported that a iinubcr of turfites who prefer the parimutuel style of wagering will come this way for the Cheyenne meeting meetingJ J O Talbott president of the Cheyenne Thor ¬ oughbred Breeders Association under whose aus ¬ pices the local meeting will be conducted has been on the scene here for some time as has W W Fiun who will manage the affair Both of these men have btcii prominent in turf circles for years and number their friends by the thousands among the horsemen They have made many improvements at Frontier Park devoting no small amount of work to the track proper which is now one of the safest in the country to race over overENTHUSIASTIC ENTHUSIASTIC OVEE PEOSPECTS PEOSPECTS3Iessrs 3Iessrs Talbott and Finn are enthusiastic over the outlook for the coming meeting It will embrace four Saturdays and a holiday the latter being the closing day of the season Labor Day On these occasions as well as at various other times during the meeting overnight handicaps will be provided These races arc sure to fill as enough good horses came from Kentucky to make thorn interesting interestingThe The program book for the meeting has not yet been sent to the printer as it is the desire of the racing association to get a line on all of the horses on hand and to frame the conditions to suit them There will be six or more races daily and no matter how many horses are here all will have plenty of opportunities to earn brackets bracketsTiiis Tiiis will mark the second nnnunl summer raco mooting at Frontier Park Last year it was quite successful but this year it is sure to be cvou more successful The local populace has taken unusual interest in the racing and there are more sport loving people here than any city in the west size considered They realize the vast benefits which the city derives from the racing as numerous l eople conic from all parts of the couutry1
