NOTED MASCOT DIES AT NEW ORLEANS .XEW ORLEAXS, La., January 25. Horsemen all over the country will regret to hear of the death last week at the Fair Grounds of "John," the wee Mexican goat that has been the mascot of th W. C. Clancy stable for close to twelve years. The goat died suddenly and was buried back of the Clancy barn. "John" was the most widely known stable mascot in the country. He accompanied the stable in all of its travels and had visited every race track in this country, Canada and Mexico. Many are the stories told regarding his almost human intelligence. Clancy secured him at Juarez when he was young, and had became much attached to the animal.
