FAVORITES WIN FOR THEIR BACKERS Public Pick the Right Ones at Aqueduct Over There First in Diablo Handicap. NEW YORK, N. Y.. September 20. Favorites again rewarded their backers at Aqueduct today, perhaps the best supported one being W. R. Coes Over There, which w;as returned winner of the Diablo Handicap at one mile. Opposing him were the Butler entry, Rally and Spur, and A. K. Ma-combers War Kiss. Over There never left the result In doubt, going into an early lead and winning with something in reserve. P. G. King, which has failed on previous occasions, started the day off well for the talent by winning the first race easily. I-ord Brighton, although much the best in the second race, had a close call, due to Fators timidity, he being loath to go between Fruit Cake and Flags, which were in the lead in the stretch. He finally gut clear ia the last strides, however, and was going away at the end. Wee Louise sprcadeagled her opponents in the third, relating her victory of a few days ago. The attendance was unusually good for an off day. Jockey Troxler and E. Haynes have returned from Havre de Grace and will ride out the remainder of the autumn season on the New York tracks. S. .Smith, who purchased War Togs yesterday, has sold the horse to T. F. Twiford and will train him in the future for that owner. W. W. Smathers, who was considerably interested in turf affairs some years ago, was a guest of Sam Hildreth today. Reports have reached here that a new race course is contemplated to be built in London, Ont. According to Sergeant Major J. Cresswell, who has the proposition in hand, nearly .100 aenjs of land lias been purchased and 1919.sh0,000 worth of stock has been sold. Sergeant Major CressweH will go to Latonia shortly to get in touch with the situation there. George Odom has decided to send his throe-year-ld King Plaudit to Latonia to run in the Latonia Championship Stakes. He leaves next , Monday.
