FRICTION REPORTS ABSURD H G Bedwell Denies Stories of Differences with His Employer J K L Ross BALTIMORE Md March 7 H G Bedwell trainer for the horses of Commander J K L Ross yesterday characterized as absurd the stories pub ¬ lished to thu effect that he was on the outs with his employer and that hi was about to leave for more congenial work elsewhere The report liow cver that a split is sure at the close of this year will not down SjHaking from Laurel Bedwell said The reports of friction between myself and Commaifdcr Ross over the Shilling case are un ¬ founded Commander Boss and a party of friends from Montreal are here now and my relations with him were never more cordial We have been to ¬ gether all day and I certainly ought to know if anyone as to whether 1 am on the verge of leaving or not notCommander Commander Boss arrived late Saturday night with his friends from Canada in a special car He went directly to his farm and yesterday morning spent much time looking over his horses and discussing their condition with Bedwell After their inspec ¬ tion he expressed himself as greatly pleased with all that he had seen and commended his trainer on his management during tlie winter months He will remain here throughout the week and yesterday afternoon left for a long automobile drive with his party that will cover many miles of Maryland roads roadsTlie Tlie Boss stable at present is being pointed for Havre de Grace but it is entirely probable that there may be some racing done at the Bowie meet ¬ ing ingShilling Shilling is no longer at the Laurel farm anil his attorney William I Nnrris denies that the jockey was forced to leave He had been employed to ride the Boss horses in daily gallops but Norris advised his client to give evjn this up and his ad ¬ vice was accepted Shilling now must ride as a free lance or form some other connection if he is granted a license for botli Norris and Bedwell have declared that he broke his trainers contract with Boss on December 1
