LEXINGTONS FINE SPRING MEETING E R BRADLEY LEADING WINNING OWNER BREAD MAN MANHEADS HEADS THE HORSES E POOL THE JOCKEYS JOCKEYSAND AND W PERKaNS THE TRAINERS The spring meeting at Lexington was held from April 23 to May 4 embracing ten days of racing during which time seventy races were run and 91230 distributed in stakes and purses The daily average distribution amounted to 9123 In several respects the meeting was remarkable The attend ¬ ance figures were larger than 1n previous years despite the adverse weather that prevailed almost through ¬ out the ten days Strange though the increased attendance did not bring large returns in the mutuels the volume of betting falling below that of last year This together with the additional expense of operation left a deficit for the Kentucky Jockey Club to bear As far as the racing itself was concerned more horses of the better class were seen in action than is usually the case so early in the spring and many interesting contests were witnessed The percentage of winning favorites fell below the normal mark the bad weather and muddy track conditions being largely responsible for the overthrow of the public choices E R Bradley did not have many horses in ac ¬ tion but the few that did start made the most of their opportunities with the result that the master of Idle Hour Stud heads the list of the money winning owners with 8075 to his credit G F Baker is second his horses capturing the largest number of races and 7396 Among others that fared well are H H Hewitt with 4900 O B Potts 4895 J O G Hi Keehe 3550 and Gallaher
