FINAL SARATOGA YEARLING SALE XALAPA FARM YOUNGSTERS BRING HIGHEST PRICES OF THE SEASON HOURLESS COLT TOPS THEM ALL AT 4,500 SARATOGA, N. Y., August 20. It n-nmined for the final yearling sale of the season, held Friday night at the Fasig-Tipton ring, to yield the highest averages, the twenty-four colts and fillies from Edward Sinims Xalapa Farm Stud going for a total of 10,200, an average of ,5!1.GG. This exceeded the previous high average, held by the Himyar Stud yearlings. Not a tingle one of the twenty-four disposed of went under ,000, and only one was sold for that figure. The highest priced colt of the sale was Marys Last, by Hourless Mary Davis, half brother to Despair, which finally went to A. J. Goldsborough, supposedly acting for Charles A. Stoneham, for 4,500. The same buyer secured the coir by Ogden Scenery for 0,000. The brown or black colt, by Star Shoot Elmaha was a much desired yearling, and attracted some spirited bidding, finally going to S. P. Harlan, supposedly acting for Lawrence Waterbury, for 2,100. The same buyer also secured a splendid looking Sweep Kopje colt for ,100. The Hourless Pamphyle colt held steady bidding attention and became the property .of Mrs. S. D. Riddle on her bid of 0,000. "Bud" Fisher was again an active bidder on the choicer offerings, but the only one he succeeded in securing w?.s the good looking daughter of Star Shoot Dismiss at a cost of ,000, the highest price paid for iuy of the fillies. The attendance was the most notable seen at any of the sales this season. The offerings were all attentively observed, the bidding steady and at times spirited, especially when a particularly attractive looking youngster was on the block. Originally twenty-five youngsters were scheduled for saletutIrjjSjmins put, a reserve price -of ,000 on the Prince Palutine Adana Tilly, and as there was no advance she was retained. Friday nights sale concludes the public yearling auctions for this season at Saratoga. There are two more sales listed, but will be of horses in training, and arc miscellaneously owned.
