VALUABLl hopeful stakes tod A Y i THIRTEEN HIGH-CLASS TWO-YEAR-OLDS TO STRIVE FOR ONE OF THE RICHES1 TURF PRIZES OF THE YEAR UNBEATEN MORVICH THE FAVORITE The glorious and wonderful racing at Saratoga ends today. The rich Hopeful Stakes Mid famous Saratoga Cup are the chief attractions of the farewell program. With only Exterminator and Donnacona named to contest for the Saratoga Cup, overwrought interest is centered in the decision of the Hopeful. It should be a grand race. Thirteen of the best two-year-olds of the year, the only notable absentee being the peerless filly Miss Joy, are ready to answer the bugle call, and at least ten of these are sure starters. The unbeaten Morvich is the public favorite. He is in superb condition, as his final trial for the race yesterday convinced everyone who witnessed his great display of speed three-eighths in ZV-,. The Rancccas Stables Kai-Sang and the Whitney trio Calamity Jane, Bunting and Whisk- away are expected to be Morvichs most dangerous opponents. They and several others ! will not lack admirers, even though the majority of turf followers, as well as the horsemen themselves, see nothing but victory for Morvich. As the winners share of todays Hopeful will be approximately 35,000, Morvichs success in it will place him at the head of the money-winning horses of the year.
