MORE HORSES REACH LATONIA Baker, Goode and Whitlow Strings Arrive from : Lexington Kay Spences Large Stable. CINCINNATI. O., August 30. The principal stables to arrive at Latonia today caiue from Lex ington and comprised the establishments of Jim Baker, J. M. Goode and John Whitlow. The Goode consignment, embraced Sands of Pleasure, Harvest King, Herald, Airgo, Monsoon, Little Polly and Ben Aalet. Goode announced that his two good bread winners AAadsworths Last and Dona I.oriotte had to be turned out due to lameness. Jim Baker landed with a useful string that comprised Columbia Tonn, Cinderella, Sandy Mac, -Billy Buttons, Image,; .Dancing Spray, Lady Lovely, True Friend, Nig. Lomcera and J. AV. Parrishs old campaigner Midway. The best one in the AAhitlow consignment was the good three-year-old filly Clio Clio, which is entered in a number of stakes here. John Goode has acquired the contract on the apprentice rider Leslie Rice, formerly with jhe stable of S. A. Clopton, and will give the boy abundant opportunity to display his worth at the coining meeting. Kay Spence is here with twenty-eight horses in training, one of the largest racing establishments at the track. Half of this number will be raced in the Spence colors, nine in the interest of Montfort Jones, and the remainder for the interest of Col. AV. E. Applegate. The Spence band, which formerly raced in the colors of AV. A". Thraves. comprise Legal, The Virginian. Miss Fontaine, Mile. Dazie. Marse John, raniteware, Stonewall, Lidy Astor, Field Lark. High Gear and Ballet Dancer II. Spence has taken up the veteran Hodge and will race him at this meeting. STARS IN MONTFORT JONES STABLE. , The Montfort Jones list embraces John S. Bear-don. Black Hackle, Bennont. Mareella Boy, Bristow, Memphis, Gusher, Herd Girl and Naturm. Those that will represent Col. Applegate are Ginger, Ace High, Tulsa, McGees Pink, Advance and Miss Crestwood. Spence will make the riding engagement fo Scobie, who is now under contract to Montfort Jones. Jockey Studor will also be under SpenCes management. Joe Hawkins reports that Firebrand is training well and will be ready to face the barrier early in the meeting. He has only three other horses in training at present, these being the two-year-olds Swiss, AAnkeup and Our Betsy. Jr. C. R. Richards has but three horses in his charge at present, these being Ben Bolt. Al Strauss and Night AVatch. , The twenty horses that Ed Trotter is training for V. K. Harrington and in his own interest, are all in splendid coudtiou and ready for the I usile call. This applies particularly to the Harrington band, which embraces such good ones as Brunswick. High Cost, AVyoming, AVestwood, Kewpie ONyil. Green Sold, Troilus. George Starr, Mahony. IJas. Itepeater, Bridgeton Maid, Friz and Ferguson. The horses that will sport the Trotter silks are A. N. Akin, Balance AVheel, Arravan. Sea Court and Humanitarian. The last-named is an imported two-year-old black filly by Ecouen Bed Cross and was acquired in the East recently by Trotter, 0. A, Bianchi has only a small string now. the establishment including Alameda Girl,. Miss Merle. Magnesia, Bittern and Torsida. Southern Avenue, a two-year-old filly owned by Dr. "only, the Latonia dentist, was destroyed, this morning. She was afflicted with a rare disease known as lamiiiitis. She was insured for ,00!lj
