THIRD STRAIGHT FOR KEBO Consistent Gelding Wins Three Races in as Many Days at Maisonneuve Park. MONTREAL, Que., October 14. When J. Cos-tellos consistent gelding Kebo captured the mile dash which featured this afternoons card at the Mai.ionnenuvc track, ho performed the unusual feat of winning three races in as many days. On Wednesday and Thursday, in races at a mile and seventy yards, Kebo took the measure of his ippouents, and today found little difficulty in disposing of a fair band of platers. As usual Kebo raced in the rear in the early stages, but moved up sharply when called upon and was going away in the stretch. When Jockey Eric T. Moore scored with Dormai in the second race it marked his fifteenth winner md means that hereafter he loses the five-pound ipprentice allowance except when riding for his contract employer, Eugene Lutz. Moore, who is a former Montreal telegraph messenger, developed into one of the mo t useful apprentice lads here and his contract may shortly be sold to a well-known American stable. Louis Lctowneau, well-known local racing man, who owns the Quebec Stable and is part owner of a number of local race tracks, was the victim of a daring holdup last night at his home. A masked robber invaded Mr. Letowneaus ,flat, ordered him to throw up his hands and relieved him of 500 in cash, together with a dlamind tiepin and diamond ring of. great value. Mrs. Walter A. Harper, wife of the head of the calculating department of the tracks of the Quebec Breeders and Racing Association, underwent a serious operation at the Boss Memorial Hospital. Friends will be glad to learn that she is progressing favorably. It is stated that the loss entailed on the recent ICempton Park meeting was ,66ti. The present Maisonneuve meeting will also be a loser financially on account of the unfavorable weather of the first three days. The weather today was ideal and the largest crowd of the meeting attended. : ; -
