EXCITING SPORT AT MAPLE HEIGHTS CLEVELAND, Ohio, October 27. W. E. Jones Sentimental captured the Cuyahoga Purse, which featured the card at Maple Heights Park this afternoon. She won from Breeze and Walter Turubow only by a narrow margin after a thrilling stretch struggle, in which anyone of the first four horses had an excellent chance to score. The race was attended by an accident. While leading after passing the half mile post Rainbow Girl fell and suffered a cut behind which will keep her out of racing for some time. Jockey J. Merimee, who had the mount, injured his shoulder slightly, which forced him to discontinue riding for the remainder of the afternoon. After a game stretch effort Fornovo got up to beat Hairy Burgoyne in a driving finish in the initial dash of the afternoon. Bnrdora also won the closing number under the same conditions, but the remaining winners scored with considerable to spare. T. Hodge has taken over the contract on the apprentice jockey Norman Collins and the buy has reported to trainer Stevens, who is handling a division of the Hodge stable in Mary-land. W. A. Cross string of five head, including Miss Hilarity, Lady Eileen and three others arrived here today from New Kensington, Pa.
