HOUSE BEATEN BY GOATS Real goats not horses disparagingly spoken of by that name cut the prominent Indian owner J. C. Galstaun out of a good win at Barrackpore on October 17. His mare Hurdy Gurdy started a 5 to 2 favorite for the Barrackpore Cup, one and a half miles, and was leading when a couple of goats got in her way nearing the home turn. In trying to avoid them she dropped right back and then was only beaten a hi;ad. As that was Mr. Galstauns third successive second, he deserved the winning turn Bidesia gave him in the Chandernagore Plate later in the afternoon. Sydney Referee.
