H0MEW00D STAKES ARRAY Entries for American Derby and Five Other Features Close On April 30. The Illinois Jockey Club is the first of the Chicago racing organizations to announce its stakes program for 1927. Six stellar events are provided, including the American Derby, which this year will have an added value of 5,000. Besides the Derby, the Debutante and Homewood Stakes, for two-year-olds, the Illinois Oaks for three-year-old fillies, and the Washington Park and Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, each of ,000, are the other offerings. Entries for these stake attractions close on Saturday. April 30. It was announced that there would be no purse less than ,200, with a daily feature ranging in value from ,500 to ,."┬╗oo, on the Homewood program.
