ILLINOIS STAKES OUTLOOK Crack Two-Year-Old Field to Start in Saturdays Feature at Fairmount Park. COLLINSVILLE. 111., June 16. Indications point toward a great field of fillies for the Illinois Stakes, of ,000 added, for two-year-old fillies, which will have its running at Fairmount Park on Saturday. Although the Fairmount Park Jockey Clubs Valley Stakes, for colts and geldings, was something of a disappointment, when there was a lack of formidable opposition for Polk Laffoons good colt Republic, which carried off that stake easily, there will be plenty of contention supplied by the entries to the Illinois Stakes and a field of good class will participate for the ?5,000 added feature. Several good youngsters, which are already quartered here, including ,H. P. Headleys Soiree, W. M. Cains Lila G., H. T. Archibalds Arch Duchess, J. H. Manheimers Aleader, the latter the winner of the Debutante Stakes at Homewood, and possible representatives from the Audley Farm Stable, which is holding out some good fillies, are a number of the expected starters for the important event. Word was received here by racing secretary J. B. Campbell that J. W. Parrishs filly Narva, winner of one race at Latonia, and. also E. B. McLeans Portia, a winner of two races this year, would be sent along to represent their respective owners in the Illinois Stakes. Word also comes, from Washington Park that O. L. Fosters speedy filly American Thunder, a daughter of Ace Dame Thunder, will be shipped here to carry the Foster colors in the big event of Saturdays program at Fairmount Park.
