FAST BROOKLYN GALLOPS NEW YORK, N. Y., June 16. Before the races at Aqueduct today there were some smart workouts for candidates to the Brooklyn Handicap, to be run Saturday. Tom Healey brought out Walter J. Salmons Display, just recently back from Canada, and he ran the mile and an eighth, the Brooklyn Handicap distance, in 1 :55 easily. The fractional time was: :25, :50, 1:14, 1:41. and the distance in 1 :55. Shortly after Kar-rick had the W. R. Coe pair, Pompey and Black Maria, on the track, and their trial was sensauonal when they handily covered the distance in l:51. The fractions were: :23, :47V. l:12and, 1:37, and 1:51. The filly was being eased up at the end and Pompey beat her a half length to the final post. The ease with which each performed made the j fast time doubly sensational. j I
