CAPTAIN FOX raced close up from the start, saved ground by racing on the inside all the way and, taking the lead in the stretch, held SALUTATION safe. The latter was away poorly, but worked his way up gradually and, outfinishing the others, might have won at a longer distance. SELDOM SEEN also closed a big gap and finished gamely. KILLJOY" raced well, making up much ground. SPRING finished fast. ME ME tired. MONT ROSE raced into the lead, then quit badly. DOROTHY E. showed the most early speed, but bolted to the outside. Start good and slow. Won easily: second and third driving. CLIFF, close up from the start, rushed past MARTHA ROOS into the lead while rounding the far turn and held sway to win easing up. MARTHA ROOS forced the pace throughout and finished well. ROYAL CHARLIE raced on the inside, saved ground on the turns under a good ride and, finishing gamely, outstayed RUSOVIA. The latter closed a big gap. finishing fast. PLAIN DEALER also closed a great gap. WOODCRY tired near the end. LAMP WARD showed early speed, but was done after going a half mile. STARLESS raced in close pursuit, of the. lenders throughout and raced well to the end. TAZEWELL closed a gap and finished gamely. LUCKY RUN ran well for three-quarters and tired. The latter worked his; way up gradually from a slow stair and, saving much ground on the turns, came with a rush and outgamed RUANE. RUANE made a challenge while in the middle of the track and, finishing fast, was wearing the leaders down. PATSY JANE set a, good pace for f ive-eigliths, then dropped back. McClJLLOCH raced in nearest pursuit, of the distant leader to the stretch and tired. MARSDALE had no mishaps. CHIEF SABATTUS was done after going three-quarters. SPEARO quit. Scratched 14449 Candy.
