Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third driving. JOLLITY took the lead quickly and, setting a fast pace, held to the lead gamely under good riding at the end. SUCKY at all times held the others safe and ran a game race. JULIE "II. came over from an outside position early in the race, worked her way up resolutely and finished fast. CLYTIE met with some early interference and tired in the stretch drive. SAILOR MAID was going well at the end. FALSE MODESTY was crowded on the insde and was tiring through the final eighth. AT POST 2 minutes. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. . CRIMSON DAWN was saved hack of ST. LAWRENCE to the last three-eighths, where he quickly took the lead and, after stumbling badly at the last jump, made a quick recovery and was going away at the end. ST. LAWRENCE showed excellent speed, but was :tiring.badly in the final drive. BRITANNIC raced poorly and was far back when he unseated his rider at the twelfth jump, but was remounted and finished the course for third money. "I ITQ"! THIRD. RACE 5-8 Mile. SCOTCH AND SODA finished resolutely, but was doing his best to save second place. BROOMS was a bit green in the early" racing, but worfcedliis way up steadily and was going fast at the end. DIAYOLO closed a big gap and outgamed HYPNOTISM-at the end. The latter had no mishaps. HOGANS ALLEY tired. OLD DUTCH II. left the post fast and showed early speed but quit badly and was eased up at the end. PEANUTS followed CHANCE PLAY closest up and. finishing with rare gamcness, wore him down in the last sixteenth to win in the last stride. CHANCE PLAY set a terrific pace, finished resolutely and only succumbed in the final strides, where he swerved out slightly. DISPLAY steadily worked h.s way up. saved ground on the stretch turn and finished fast to outgame POMPEY. The latter, under early restraint, finished better than has been his custom. LIGHT CARBINE raced in his best form and challenged at the head of the stretch, but was tiring at the end. CRUSADER, under early restraint and in clopc quarters, could never reach the leading division. BLACK MARIA ran a poor race. ESPINO dropped back badly.
