Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third driving. QUANAH, away well, raced close up with the leaders to the stretch and, saving much gronnd on the inside, passed the tiring MONT ROSE and held GRAPESTONE safe. The latter improved his position steadily on the outside and finished close up after passing POSTILLION and MONT ROSE. POSTILLION closed a gap quickly in the stretch and outgamed MONT ROSE. The latter showed much the most early speed and raced -into a long lead, but tired and dropped back in the last eighth. FOX-MORE could never get up and tired at the end. UNCLE BOOT showed the most early speed, then was headed briefly by JACK W. -JR., when near-ing the stretch turn, but came again on the outside and took the lead again and won gong away. PEGGY TAYLOR, close up all the way, finished with a rush, outgaming JACK W. JR. The latter forced the pace and took the lead briefly on the last turn, but tired and was outfinished. LADY CROXTON raced and finished gamely. MY SISTER closed a big gap. GOLD BOOTS acted badly at the post and tired after going a half mile.
