AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES $ e .! . .. NEW YORK, N. Y., June 29. Jockey J. Hastie was an arrival yesterday at Aqueduct and expects to ride on the New York tracks for the remainder of the year. Hastie topped the list Of Winning riders at Blue Bonnets and has been riding with considerable success throughout the season in Canada. William Keating is making his engagements. Albert Johnson will join the New York riding colony in time to accept mounts at Empiro City. He has several engagements "to ride for A. H. Morris and other owners. William Keating is handling his engagements. Jockey B. Kleeger -was suspended indefinitely today by the National Steeple chase and Hunts Association. The two-year-old Brooms was not a3 seriously injured as first thought, according to trainer Tompkins, and will be seen under colors before long. At private terms W. Knapp has purchased the three.-year;old maiden Under Cover from J. J. Timmerman, who recently disposed of his stable at public auction. ..The horse will form the nucleus of the public stable which, Knapp opened. H. T. Archibald received word during the day of the death of his two-year-old colt, Lord Minta. The colt had been sick for some time at the Collinsville track of "thd Fair-mount Jockey Club, where he died! Mr. Archibald had entertained high hopes for the colt and he considers his death a serious blow to his racing stable. Frank J. Bruen was a visitor, having come on from Latonia., where, he went for the running of the. Latonia. Derby. Ho reported that the new Chicago course, being constructed by H. D. Curley Brown, would assuredly be Teady in lime for-the fall meeting that has been planned. He reported that the location was an ideal one and on a level track that rqjres no. filling. The building of the grandstand is being rushed along under a contract that carries a bonus for construction ahead of schedule, as well as a forfeit for failure to.haye the worjc completed in the contract time. .
