MAN 0 WAR SONS TOP LIST, I i I Annapolis and Battleship Score ! Perfect Mark for Salmon. ! i . t . i i Whitney Itnecrs "Win Four at Bowie, Hut Tall Short in Money Column Yandcr ; Pool Continues Undefeated. "W. J. Salmon started only two horses dur- : ing the eleven-day Bowie meeting and these j two, Annapolis and Battleship, both sons of. Man o "Wat, had perfect records, winning ; four races of a gross value to the winners ! of ?6,3S0. IT. P. "Whitney racers also won four and were in the money several times, ; but none of their victories was in stakes, so this stable, although ranking second, was nearly ,000 in winnings behind that of Salmon. Although Annapolis, the four-year-old son of Man o War, won three races for Salmon, j more than half of the owners total was made by the three-year-old son of Man o j "War, Battleship, in his single start. He won the James Itowe Memorial Handicap, which : carried a winners share of ,380. Annapolis was the only horse which won as many as 1 three races. The "Whitney winners were Squab and . Equipoise, two-year-olds; Frumper and .Hue- j ful, three-year-olds. : Dinah Did Upset won the largest amount of money of any one horse and her two ! victories, netting ,240, put S. AV. Labrot in third place among the owners. Dinah Did Upsets chief conquest was in the Prince Georges Spring Handicap, which was worth : ,390 to the winner. The two other stakes of the Bowie meet- ing. not already mentioned, were the Inaugural Handicap and Bowie Kindergarten Stakes. Bocaratone scored a surprising victory in the . Inaugural, which gave Mrs. AV. J. Potter fourth place. The Kindergarten Stakes went to Vander Pool, Mrs. M. P. Allens as yet undefeated juvenile colt, which has been .one of the sensations of the baby division, both in Florida .and in Maryland. This colt started twice at Bowie and ranked fifth in the mount of money won. Any number of overnight handicap horses and platers won their only starts during the meeting, some of them being Joe Marrone III., Rapid Transit. Molasses Jane, Hypnotism and Herb Ashby. The latter won two races and was undefeated. The Rancocas Stable had the largest number of horses in the money, but with only one -winner, Zublena. Rancocas scored seven seconds, A. Robertson led the jockeys by a good margin, winning ten races with a total of forty-seven mounts and riding seven seconds and six thirds. Bowie distributed a gross of 0S,915 during the eleven days, a daily average of 59.901.
