ARLINGTON PARKS PURSES Daily Outlay to Be Headed by ,200 Event Except on Days When Stakes Are Run. The daily racing programs for the first ten days of the Arlington Park meeting, except on days when a stake is offered, will be headed by a ,200 event, racing secretary Joseph McLennan announced Friday. He is now preparing the condition book for that period, which goes into effect at the opening on Monday, June 27, and continues through Thursday, July 10. During the first third of the Arlington meeting the sport will be featured by runnings of the 0,000 added Stars and Stripes Handicap, ,500 added Hyde Park Stakes and ,500 added Arlington Inaugural Handicap. Secretary McLennan further said that three events with a value of ,000 each and four races of 00 each would be incorporated in the condition book he is now preparing, the arrangement of the purses being made to conform with the class of horses asked to compete. The Arlington official announced that nominations to the five stakes closing on June 3 were being made in a most satisfactory fashion, indicating that the countrys outstanding stables would be represented at the forthcoming thirty-day meeting.
