LIBERTY OAK, away fast and close to the pace, easily disposed of COOLEY and, inclined to loaf after drawing clear, was hard ridden near the end. AMSCRAY, away slowly and probably best, lost ground all the way and finished with a rush. FIRE STAR began fast, was taken back on the turn and held on well in the drive. COOLEY tired badly after showing speed to the last eighth. BILLY PAT had no mishaps. DROLE POLLY, fractious at the post, where she unseated her rider before the start, dropped out of it soon after the start and was badly outrun. Cp;- f SECOND RACE 5 1-2 Furlongs. OWEN, steadied alone for three-eiehths responded strongly and, racing into command, held on well. PEEDEEQUE, much used at the post, was eoine stoutly when impeded in the stretch. ALCORAH was hard urged in the final quarter. MAMIE D shewed speed, but quit badly. SOCIAL SERVICE quit. SWEEPILLA began poorly. LEGAL GAMBLE, fractious at the post, was away in a tangle. FOXLAND HALL could not menace the winner, but held on well in an even effort. KNOWLEDGE saved ground where possible and outstayed UPON. The latter closed gamely.
