OCCUPY DADE PARK STABLES Three Hundred Horses Expected by . Saturday at Kentucky Track Opening Day Aug. 12. DADE PARK, Ky., Aug. 4. With trains unloading thoroughbreds at Dade Park daily, J. J. Graddy, in Charge of the stable reservations, said today more than 300 horses will be quartered at the park by Saturday night, and that by the date of the opening, August 12, more than 600 racers would be at the western Kentucky track. Lester E. Yeager, associate manager of Dade Park, more than a week in advance of the opening date, has the grounds in readiness. The plant was never in better condition. The track, one of the best in America, has been worked until it is light-, ning fast. The grandstand, clubhouse and . all of the buildings have been repaired since . last summers meeting. James C. Ellis, president of the Dade Park : Jockey Club; Robert W. Hunter, vice-presi-: dent, and Drury Smeather, secretary-treas- urer, all voiced the opinion today that the tenth annual meeting at Dade Park will be the most successful in the history of the track. All of the racing officials were announced definitely today. The stewards are T. C. Bradley, Brownell Berryman and Mr. -Graddy. The placing judges are Mr. Graddy, -Fred Burton and N. H. McClelland. Mr.. Berryman is racing secretary and handi-capper; William Hamilton, starter; Mr. McClelland, clerk of scales; Mr. Burton, entry clerk; J. R. Rash, timer; Dr. I. M. Hen-ricks, paddock judge; W. E. Phillips, patrol judge, and J. B. McCliing, supervisor: of-pari-mutuels. The feature race for the "opening day of the twenty-five day meeting on Saturday, August 12, is the Inaugural Handicap for three-year-olds at six furlongs for a ,000, purse. , The Governors Handicap for three-year-olds and over at one mile for a purse of ,500 will be run Saturday, August 19. The A. B. Dade Memorial Handicap for three-year-olds and over at six furlongs for, a purse of ,000 will be run Saturday, August 26. The Dade Park Handicap, over the Dade Park course, for three-year-olds and over, for a purse of ,000 will be run Saturday, September 2. The Labor Day Handicap of a mile and. one-eighth for three-year-olds and over will, be run Monday, September 4. The meeting will end September 9.
