The latter, probably best, but too heavy headed for his small rider, raced wide throughout and, closing strong, just missed getting up. GAILLARDIA had good speed, was well rated and weakened in the final eighth. ADSUM, allowed to drop out of it on the far turn, made up ground in the stretch, but could not get to the leaders.
