RUSH WORK AT DETROIT DETROIT, Mich., Aug. 9. More than 200 workmen will be employed and approximately 00,000 expended in making over and improving the local Fair Grounds track for the coming inaugural meeting of the Detroit Racing Association. The work, which will be rushed to completion before the meeting opens September 2, will include the construction of a clubhouse, paddock, stables and other improvements, while the lower tiers of the grandstand will be cut out in making passageways to the under section of the stand, where the mutuel department will be situated. The track has been plowed up and will be entirely resoiled with a rich loam. With favorable weather the new top soil will be spread within a few days.
