AQUEDUCT RACING AT HAND Carter Handicap Main Attraction of ofMondays Mondays Inaugural Program at atQueens Queens County Glut Course NEW YORK N Y June 9 The Queens County Jockey Club will inaugurate its meeting at the old Aqueduct course Monday afternoon and the racing will continue there until July 4 The opening day feature is the old and popular Carter Handicap a dash of six and a half furlongs and it has attracted a representative field that is headed by Mrs Isabel Dodge Sloanes Okapi winner of the Toboggan Handicap on the first day of the Belmont Park meeting The son of Eternal is asked to shoulder 118 pounds but he seems equal to the task and it is probable he will be the public choice for the running Opposing him are six fast sprinters and the weights grade down from Okapis 118 to 109 pounds assigned C V Whitneys Halcyon HalcyonT T M Cassidys Universe which is steadily improving is in under 105 pounds and lighter weights for the running are War Stripes Skipdash Bright Haven and Open Range RangeUnder Under the weight arrangement the re ¬ newal should be a worthy one For the most part the opening day fields are small but nicely balanced and there is an excellent chance for a good contest to result from each one
