1 BAY MEADOWS NOTES . Before departing for New York, F. A. Car-reaud sold the maiden Thistle Genie to Mrs. L. F. OLeary at private terms. C. E. Graham has sold the two-year-old Shasta Land to Mrs. L. Copenhaver. William Hartman of the Oak Tree Stable has purchased Our Harry and Pietra from the Viejas Stable. Neither animal has been to the post as yet Frank Walker, prominent western trainer, was recently released from a southern California hospital following a long siege of illness. Portcodine, a seven-year-old son of The Porter Codina, has been retired to the stud by his owner, C. Putnam. The latter owns the Rancho Del Lago, near Tucson, Ariz., and intends entering the breeding business, with Portcodine as his stud. Portcodine has raced for more than a dozen owners in the past two years and was purchased "by Putnam from the sale of the Pike-Unna horses at Santa Anita. Owner A. A. Baroni and jockey Frank Mauro returned from Sacramento, where they went to attend a meeting of the committee investigating the California Horse Racing Board. Apprentice Dale Landers, who has been riding well at Caliente, accepted his first mount of the meeting Thursday afternoon. . -o
