DEPUTATION raced close up in the early part and, hugging the rail approaching the stretch turrit-got through on the inside of ROSSER S. to take command and drew out to an easy" win. ROSSER S. opened up a good load while setting the pace, but tired in the last eighth. FANDAN was going well at the finish. TEENYA had early speed, but lost ground by racing wide. Won ridden out; second and third driving. y SHASTA LAND, although headed in the early stages, continued gamely while saving ground and, coming fast cn the inside through the stretch, got to the front in the final eighth and held HOWDEN safe. The latter was well up all the way and was gaining slowly at the finish. COLOR BELL had speed and raced well to the end, though going wide. ROYAL CHEF lacked early speed, was. in. close quarters while making his run in the stretch and could not get up? LITTLE TONEY was hard ridden to get to the front of PLENTY GOLD in the early stages and tired. PLENTY GOLD could not keep up. BARBADOES was never a contender. JANE PACKARD, with "the leaders from the start, took a short lead after entering the stretch, but had to be hard ridden to withstand the challenge of HIGH POCKETS an eighth out and held LADY GOLD at the finish. LADY GOLD, showing much improvement, saved ground in the stretch and raced strongly to the finish. STARFERENCE was in close quarters on the far turn and forced to take back, but came strongly on the inside through the stretch. HIGH POCKETS moved around the outside on the stretch turn to challenge in determined fashion, but faltered nearing the finish. MEMPHIS "LASS and SOCIETY TALK were used up fighting for the lead. DANDY DANCER, cleverly ridden, raced close to WILDERNESS AVAY on the outside to the stretch, then dropped back gradually to be taken down on the inside of the latter in the final sixteenth and won under hard riding. WILDERNESS WAY displayed good speed setting the pace and held on gamely in the final drive. LADY LOUELLA, although oiidassed by the first two, liked the going arid held the others safe. AMY COOPER tired in the last eighth. LOBITOS was outrun all the way. SUN LIBERTY pulled up lame. Overweight Dandy Dancer, 1 pound. Corrected weight Lady Louella, 100.
