PARADUN sprinted Jnto an easy lead going to the first turn, was steadied in front while having good speed, opened up a long lead midway of the final turn, but was put to punishment during the final stages to make certain of victory. WAYWARD SON, placed to early pressure, wore down IDLE WORKER, but failed to threaten the winner seriously when the real issue- came. COURT GOSSIP improved his position slowly and could not gain on the leaders in the closing drive. EGEON raced evenly and had no excuse. VOLGADALE was held safe throughout. CANIMAR was never a factor. SPIXI, slow to get going, worked his way up rapidly on the outside when leaving the back stretch, reached the leaders approaching the home stretch and held on stoutly after gaining command in the last eighth. WATERSET, beginning slower than usual, improved her position on the outside early, slipped through on the inside of the winner after being straightened into the home stretch and was going gamely at the end. ONEILL, outrun for the first half mile, circled his field and came with a belated rush. WAR SAINT raced prominently under strong urging and held on gamely at the end. SINGING HEART was gaining slowly during tha final drive. DIXIE PRINCESS closed a good gap after a slow beginning. BOBBY BUXTON and SMALL CHANGE were used up setting the pace. HEIRESS, racing in smartly-improved feim, followed within striking distance of the leaders, swung to the outside when reaching the home stretch, closed fast and was up in the last seventy yards. DAVOG raced close up from the beginning, took command entering the home stretch, but could not withstand the winner. TRUE CHARM, rushed into early command, showed good speed while setting the pace, but tired after being overtaken. VEE EIGHT, placed on the outside after being fractious at the post, raced strongly until reaching tha home stretch, then tired steadily. VACILLATE lacked speed to enter contention and was unable to threaten when placed to a drive. CHICLE SHIP was not persevered with in the early stages, but closed full of run and appears ready. WISE DUKE, away in the first flight and a keen factor in the early stages, came to the outside for the closing drive and, finishing fast, was up in the last fifty yards. DELIBERATOR, a quick beginner, had nice speed while setting the pace, was placed to punishment during the closing eighth and held on willingly to the end. BILLIE BANE went up swiftly from Ins outside post position, raced strongly after reaching contention and fought it out stubbornly all during the final drive. BRIGHT LIGHT began quickly, followed in. the thick of contention, saved ground and held on well. SANTAN bettered his position steadily and was racing gamely at the finish. GRAND SLAM closed full of run after finding racing room in the last part of the trip. PARADE GIRL could not engage the leaders. BEAUFLOWER had early speed. DELIBERATE broke in a tangle and had no chance. DRAWN SWORD fell back after leaving the back stretch when crowded. POSTAGE DUE began slowly. DARK HOPE, rated off the pace until midway of the back stretch, moved up fast when shaken up, came to the outside of the leaders and, closing in resolute fashion, was up in the last few strides. STAND PAT raced into a slight lead in the last tlroc-sixteenths, saved ground and held on stubbornly after being bumped a couple of times by ONLY ONE during the closing eighth. ONLY ONE raced WAR GLORY into early submission, was overtaken after gaining a slight lead, but continued gamely after swerving to the inside and, bumping STAND PAT during the stretch drive. HOWARD, eased back going to the first turn, improved his "position gamely and was gaining slowly at the end. COLLATERAL was held safe. WAR GLORY began tiring after three-quarters. . POLO BAR moved up steadily after reaching the back stretch, took command after wearing down TRIS-TRAP entering the home stretch and had enough in reserve to withstand SIMPLE SINGER. The latter, racing in greatly-improved form, bettered his position steadily, responded gamely and finished with good courage. TRIOLET, permitted to settle into her stride before being shaken up, raced to the outside when put to a drive, lost considerable ground, but closed willingly. ON LEAVE, slow to get going, worked his way up fast in the last half mile. TRISTRAP was hurried to the front, saved ground after shaking off AIRWAY, but could not stay when the final issue came. HEREWARD gained command after being straightened into the back stretch, but could not stall off the winner when placed to severe pressure. OLAMAY improved her position gradually and closed gamely. GAY PARTY entered contention, stoutly to reach the pacemaker at the final turn, but could not stay thereafter. ZEMBLA lacked speed and passed tiring horses in the late stages.
