MAY V. was rushed into command shortly after the start, drew away into a safe lead, but was quitting through the stretch when placed under pressure. TRANSIT LADY came to the outside in the stretch and was wearing down the winner at the end. CASH BOOK, a forward factor from the start, held on well. MISS GINBAR slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and finished well. SYCORAXj racing greenly in the early running, finished fast under mild pressure. AT POST 1 minutes. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third the same. VALSE raced green throughout, showed good speed, but bore out in the stretch and drew .away. BERCEUSE, well up in the early stages and on the inside, was bothered by the winner nearing the stretch turn and came again after being bothered. DEVILMENT worked her way up on the outside and outlasted SPEECH in the final strides. SPEECH moved up fast rounding the far turn, but hung at the Finish. BLUE GUM was under pressure rounding the far turn and was slightly impeded when BERCEUSE took up entering the stretch. HARLEM BELLE closed well under pressure. MINSTRELETTE showed early speed. DASHER worked his way up steadily, saved ground on the turns and finished fast. CHIEF MOURNER was placed under pressure at the far turn, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch, but hung at the end. DEAN .SWIFT responded to urging in the stretch run and closed gamely. SURVEYOR, well up in the early running, faltered at the end. SYNOD closed ground steadily. GOV. SHOLTZ was outrun. The latter was rated along under steadying restraint, saved ground all the way, but hung at the finish. BLACK BUDDY was shuffled back in the first eighth, improved his position thereafter, but could not menace the leaders. EXHIBIT moved up stoutly rounding the far turn, saved ground entering the stretch, but faltered at the end. QUEL JEU, away well, sulked and refused to extend himself. The latter was in close quarters in the early stages, came to the outside at the far turn and made a determined bid in the stretch, but hung at the end. FLOWERY saved ground at the far turn and also at the stretch turn, but quit in the stretch. GUIDING LIGHT, a forward factor all the way, had no mishaps. PLAYFOLE yvas carried wide going to the first turn and could not improve his position under pressure. DONT BLUSH was jumped upon at the far turn and pulled up lame.
