STATECRAFT, well rated, disposed of BONNIE CAP after a half mile, stood repeated challenges . from ERVAST in the final three-sixteenths and was going away near the end when the latter tired suddenly, j ERVAST saved much ground and was not good enough. NYACK, outrun for a half mile came to the- outside of MONTMARY ihv the final sixteenth and was going gamely at the end. MONTMARY saved; ground entering the stretch. STARKIST, away well, tired in the drive. SALVE showed good speed, for a half mile, but ran out entering the stretch. BRILLIANT PAL, confidently handled, lost much ground while racing on the outside of the leaders, came wide entering the stretch and outfinished MOVING CLOUDS. The latter enjoyed a slight lead, but was not good enough. INSTEAD moved up rapidly in the stretch, and tired as if short. EXPLORER finished with good courage. LADY TORCHILLA showed much speed, but tired rapidly in the final sixteenth. ROSE LEONARDO was shuffled back soon after the start and failed to extend herself under punishment. The latter, probably best, suffered much interference and came with a great rush when clear. SLEEPY GAL made up ground gradually and was going strongest of all in the final sixteenth. KAVALRY JACK, knocked back after a quarter, was going well in the stretch. ELANBEE bore to the inside at the half-mile post. Corrected weight Veiled, 112. The latter made up ground, bore out in the stretch and was getting to the winner. ENRO raced on the inside and made up a little ground in the final eighth under severe punishment. DOUBLE DARE worked her way up gradually, but tired in the final eighth. AUSTERLITZ II. and CUT PRICE quit. GOLDEN X. and CAPTAIN DANGER were always trailers. Overweight Captain Danger, 2g pounds.
