The latter moved up with a rush after a half mile, lost ground at the turns, but held on well. CHIPS, a strong factor throughout, lost ground entering the stretch and tired in the final eighth. The latter, well up from the start and on the outside, was put to good urging after a half mile and was wearing down the winner at the end. MARMARA, hustled into the lead soon, after the start, gave way to the winner, lost ground after offering a strong bid nearing the final eighth and tired thereafter.
