HORSE SALE AT LEXINGTON Seventy Lots Bring Total of 42 640 an Average of 60914 Major Consignments Were From McDowell arid Gallaher Estates Nineteeri Year lings Go for 12505 Average 65815 t LEXINGTON Ky May 3 A mixed lot of i breeding stock yearlings and young racing material was sold Thursday afternoon at E J Tranters Lexington sales paddock Seventy lots brought a total of 42640 an average of 60914 60914The The major consignments were those of estates of Major T C McDowell and Allan B Gallaher In the McDowell estate were seventeen lots which sold for 16950 av ¬ eraging 997 The first ten lots sold in the McDowell offerings were yearlings the total for these was 9900 averaging 990 The remainder of the McDowell consignment consisted of mares some of them with foals at side Highest price of the McDowell sale was a yearling colt which Col Phil T Chinn purchased for 2000 This was the highest figure reached during the afternoon but it was equaled twice The other 2000 sales were Biddy Gal property of Horace N Davis agent purchased by the British Blood Stock Agency for export to France and Polly McWiggles dam of the Futurity winner Kerry Patch bought out of the Lee Rosenberg consignment by J W Parrish Midway banker and sportsman Polly Mc ¬ Wiggles is in foal to Desperate Desmond sire of Kerry Patch PatchThe The British Blood Stock Agency also bought Tetrarchs Captive with a bay filly by Black Servant from the consignment of Horace N Davis agent also for export to France FranceFor For the estate of the late sportsman Al ¬ lan Gallaher there were sold seventeen head for 8185 averaging 48088 The stallion Cherokee was one of this group and he was purchased by C Whitney Moore for the bargain price of 1250 1250Of Of the total sold today nineteen head were yearlings These
