LUNA MICA had no mishaps. DONATE lost ground throughout, tiredafter offering a strong bid nearing the final quarter and failed to be a contender at any stage. LE BRUYERE quit. The latter bore out from the beginning and was fast wearing down the winner at the end. PROVEN worked his way forward steadily, saved ground entering the stretch and finished well. TOANO, under strong handling from the beginning, was forced wide at the stretch turn and tired thereafter. ROYAL PURCHASE showed a good effort. MORRIS R. made up ground. LILLIAN Z. was outrun.
