INCREASE RIVERSIDE PURSES KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 23. T. J. Carroll, field representative of the Thoroughbred Horse, Owners and Trainers Association, who is here in the interests of that body, was in conference this morning with the officials of the Riverside Jockey Club and announced that the latter organization was going to increase the purses in the next issue of the condition book and that there would only be one 00 purse in the book. Purses will be raised for the better grade of horses and Mr. Carroll asked the horsemen to co-operate with the track owners by being more liberal with their entries. Carroll plans leaving tomorrow for Omaha, where he will look after the horsemens interests at that point.
